Reclaiming Our Roots: The Gamma Psi Composite Recovery Effort

My name is John Cvetkovski, and I have the honor of serving as the Chapter Historian for the Gamma Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi. Recently, our chapter has embarked on an exciting new initiative called the Composite Recovery Effort (CRE). Through this program, we hope to rekindle the treasured memories of our past, safeguard the milestones that define us, and—most importantly—bring our extensive brotherhood closer together.

Why the Composite Recovery Effort Matters

Over the years, like many fraternity chapters across the country, Gamma Psi has seen countless brothers pass through its doors—some of whom have carried away not just fond memories but also irreplaceable historical artifacts. Composites, chapter records, scrapbooks, photograph collections, and personal stories represent our living legacy. By gathering and preserving these artifacts, the CRE seeks to bridge generational gaps, inspire current members, and honor those who have shaped the Gamma Psi Chapter into what it is today.
Restoring these pieces of our past isn’t just about nostalgia; it is about strengthening the bonds we share. When we preserve and learn from our history, we carry forward the traditions, lessons, and fellowship that have made Sigma Chi a lifelong experience for so many.

How We Are Going About the CRE

Our plan is systematic and community-focused. As historian, I am spearheading a chapter-wide outreach to locate, catalog, and restore all items of historical value. This includes:

If you have any leads, stories, or items—no matter how small—please get in touch with me. Every photograph or anecdote adds more threads to our tapestry of Gamma Psi history.

How The Community Can Help

Our campus community, alumni network, and local supporters are all crucial to the success of the CRE. There are several ways you can contribute:

Looking to the Future

The Composite Recovery Effort is more than a simple records search—it’s a chance for brothers old and new to reconnect with one another and with the values that have guided Sigma Chi for generations. As we stitch together the missing chapters in our shared story, we remind ourselves that history is not just something we look back on; it’s something we live and create each day.
I invite all brothers, alumni, community members, and friends of Sigma Chi to join us in this meaningful endeavor. By working together, we can recover the historical treasures of the Gamma Psi Chapter and ensure that our legacy remains vibrant and accessible for the Sigs who will follow in our footsteps.
If you possess or know of any lost materials—whether a single photograph or an entire album—please contact me, John Cvetkovski ( ). Your assistance and enthusiasm will help make the Composite Recovery Effort a success, preserving our foundation so we can carry forward our sacred bonds of brotherhood for many more generations to come.
